Jason Edward Coombs
Poet
Jason Edward Coombs started to write poetry at the end of 2019 in preparation for the goal of writing a haiku a day in 2020. In a year when the goals of so many were derailed by the global pandemic, Jason took advantage of the opportunity provided by the first lockdown to dive deeper into the world of poetry, evolving his writing a Haiku a day goal into the uncovering of a latent passion for language. His writing is fueled by his daily experiences and interactions in the world today as much as his past.
Jason was born in Windsor, Ontario, raised in nearby Amherstburg, matured in São Paulo, Brazil, and currently resides in Toronto, ON., Canada. These four distinct municipalities and cultures continue to influence his exploration of language. When not writing his poetry Jason helps build an expanding Braziliian-style chocolate confectionery.
